Yambio, 25th April 2018. The Mayor of Yambio Town Municipality has called on the community to co-operate with municipal council to keep Yambio town and market clean.
While speaking to the press over the weekend his worship Robert Singira pointed out that community and traders need to be responsible for using dustbin for dumping any garbage to keep the market clean. Anisa Radio reports.
He says the Municipality have sworn in municipal councillors who are expected to enact law that manage the market properly.
The Mayor urges citizens to put sanitation as first priority adding that most shops, hotels and homes which do not have toilets and dustbins for garbage will be fined.
Singira admits that the municipality have no permanent place for dumping the garbage but pointing that there is a plan to get a place for dumping soon.
The mayor discloses that the municipality is facing challenge of tracks for collecting the garbage citing that economic crisis has limited the work of cleaning the market
He said despite the challenges the municipality is putting more effort to make sure that Yambio Market is clean.
