Juba, 11th May 2018. United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS is training High Committee for Peace and Reconciliation in Wau State on conflict management and mediation.
Abdul Baki Bishomi, UNMISS Civil Affairs Officer, says the workshop is to support the state government to properly utilize the committee for peace building, Voice of Hope Radio reports.
The officer acknowledges efforts of the state government in establishing the security and maintaining peace in the state.
He believes the committee will support the government to make peace in the state.
Baki says the committee will help the state government by promoting dialogue and peaceful coexistence among communities.
He notes that building peace and regaining trust among the people is a long term process and a collective role as well.
The officer spoke on Wednesday during workshop of the state members of High Committee for Peace and Reconciliation in Wau.
