Yei, 30th Janaury 2018. The coming of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS to Yei is timely, says Catholic Bishop.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe stresses that it is not too late for UNMISS to be in Yei because the Mission came when the renewal of the peace agreement is ongoing, Radio Easter reports.
There are positive peace steps taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for tranquility to prevail in the country, he adds.
The Bishop notes that the protection of civilians and the access of humanitarian assistance to the people mean their coming is very important.
Bishop Lodu made the remarks at Christ the King Cathedral on Sunday after UNMISS opened its permanent base in Yei on Thursday.
