Yambio, 24th August 2018. Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop this morning leaves the Diocese for a visit to Rome to meet the Holy Father.
Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala says every 5 years the Bishops of a particular region of the Country go to meet the pope adding that the meeting is for collaborations, renewal of collegial relationship and building up mutual relationship with the whole mother church.
He reveals that he is moving together with the Bishops of Sudan and South Sudan to share with the Holy Father the hopes, the intentions and the situation of those Countries.
Bishop Hiiboro mentions that during the visit they will have 3 days retreat on the tomb of St. Peter the first Pope in the Catholic Church upon whom the mother church was build after which they will also make a pilgrimage to the tomb of St. Bakhita.
The prelate promises to continue praying for lasting peace in South Sudan while calling on the Government and the negotiating teams to continue negotiating in good spirit in order to bring permanent and genuine peace to South Sudan.
He was talking to Anisa Fm radio this morning before leaving for Rome.
