Tonj, 26th May 2018. Stop unnecessary cutting down of trees, Acting Director of Forestry in Tonj State is urges citizens.
James Akech Agang on Thursday says farmers and charcoal makers are cutting trees without replacing them.
He stresses that the Department of Forestry in State Ministry of Agriculture has laws governing the forest.
Akech points out that it is unlawful to cut some trees that produce fruits.
He says some people do not know the importance of trees in the region.
The speaker made the comments on Thursday after receiving several cases of trees cutting.
