Juba, 3rd November 2017. Residents of Munuki Block B in Juba are complaining of daily house to house looting of money, telephones other property and torturing by unknown armed men.
CRN spoke to five families who were robbed on Friday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights by gunmen.
One of the residents describes the situation they are in as very terrible because people are attacked and looted at gun point.
He blames the government for being reluctant in protecting civilians in Juba.
Speaking while crying, another resident says she never experienced what she saw at mid night because she was about to be raped and all her thing were robbed.
She laments that she cannot estimate the amount of money taken, wondering where and how she is going to start the life again.
Another resident claims that the armed men cut his mouth and one of his teeth was knocked out.
A very old woman also reports that three armed men broke into one of the houses on Monday and looted some money and telephones.
But she could not estimate the amount of money taken.
Another resident says the gun men robbed from his house seventeen thousand South Sudanese Pounds.
Brigadier Daniel Justine Achor on Wednesday blamed citizens for not reporting criminal activities to police.
He directs everybody to go to the Ministry or meet the generals of police if they are not convinced of the other officers.
Brigadier Justine calls for collective responsibilities from the public to address issues of insecurity.
The police spokesperson promised that the matter will be investigated.
