Juba, 1st November 2018. The religious leaders in Juba call on the government and opposition leaders to fully implement the peace deal they signed in September.
Archbishop Justin Badi Arama while leading prayers during the peace celebration calls on the parties to commit and respect the agreement to end the suffering of the people of South Sudan. Sheikh Juma Saeed also reechoed the same call for full implementation of the deal so that it does not end in celebration only. During the event, four heads of states participated in the peace celebrations in Juba on Wednesday. They include President Omer Bashir of the Sudan, President of Ethiopia, Sahle-Work Zewde, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda and the President of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed. The Prime Minister of Egypt, Mustafa Madbouly and a number of delegates from other neighbouring countries also participated. Opposition leader Riek Machar, Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro, Deng Alor and other leaders of the oppositions are also in Juba. The actual celebration started at 1:00 PM with the arrival of President Salva Kiir at the mausoleum of Dr John Garang De Mabior.
