Juba, 20th April 2018. Prioritize the interest of the country and its communities in the next phase of the peace process in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Torit State Chairperson for Peace Commission urges warring parties during a prayer for peace in South Sudan.
German Charles Ojok appeals to the parties to implement the agreed principles for lasting peace to prevail in the country.
“So people are really longing for peace, they need peace just now not tomorrow. Therefore since we are the ones holding peace, let us offer peace to our people as a free gift”, he adds.
The Commissioner urges politicians to distance themselves from dividing citizens based on tribes, region and clans to achieve lasting peace in South Sudan.
According to Charles, all South Sudanese are suffering as a result of being far away from God.
He calls on all denominations to accept the Lord as their personal savior.
The chairperson was addressing the public during a one-day prayer for peace in South Sudan at Torit Freedom Square last week.
