Addis Ababa, 22nd May 2018. There is hope of positive spirit in the peace talks among South Sudanese led by South Sudan council of Churches. This was stressed by the various parties in the Revitalization Forum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Government Spokesperson Michael Makuei Lueth quoted Church leaders that the South-South consultations have broken some blocks that would spoil the discussions.
According to Pagan Amum of SPLM Former Detainees, the parties are committed to talk among themselves and the Church is playing an active role and spiritual leadership facilitation.
He adds that there is a new spirit of responsibility to end the fighting in the country and rescue people from the suffering they face.
Peter Mayen of the Umbrella group confirms that there is spirit of talking and a will to end the war.
The political leaders spoke to the media on Sunday following sub-committees meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
