Kukani Ibrahim, HIV/AIDS coordinator in the Mother of Mercy Hospitals says people are not aware of the spread of the virus in communities.
He says the aim of inviting leaders was to help them to have a concerted decision on how they will combat HIV/AIDS in communities.
The coordinator notes that more than 30 people have been diagnosed HIV/AIDS positive in less than five months.
He cautions that a sudden rise in the number of HIV patients unlike in the past.
Ibrahim also suspects that one of the major causes of HIV/AIDS was the culture of wife inheritance and gold mining places which is attracting a big number of people from various places.
