Minister urges officials to summit personal income tax to Finance Ministry

Tonj, 2nd September 2017. The Minister of Finance in Tonj State calls on financial officials in public and private sectors to submit personal income tax to ministry.
James Gabriel Khamis says he met with directors of organized forces and NGOs working in the state to brief them about the taxation.
He says the tax should be given to the ministry because they received a circular from the first undersecretary in the national Ministry of Finance.
Minister Gabriel says the money will be used to develop the state.
He discloses that those getting 601 to 5,000 pounds should pay ten percent of their salaries.
Gabriel adds that from five thousand and onwards is eligible to pay 15 percent of their salary.
He urges all organized forces and NGOs to cooperate.
NGOs representative Philip Mawut appreciates the minister for the information.
He says people were taxed in Juba, but if it returns to the state it will be good for the development of the area.
The representative urges the Ministry of Finance to distribute letters to all NGOs in Tonj so that they can forward it to the national offices.
The minister was speaking to Radio Don Bosco on Thursday.
