Rumbek, 5th October 2017. Save the Children International and Lakes State government on Wednesday held children’s forum in Rumbek town to discuss issues affecting children in the area.
Gabriel Gong Baak, the project manager on Child rights affairs at Save the Children says the aim of the forum is to sensitize government on children’s rights including right to education.
Gong says violence against children in many families affect their rights to access opportunities in life. He advises parents to give their children a chance to complete their education for a better future.
Western Lakes State Minister of Education Dut Makoi Kuok says there is increment of girls’ enrolment in schools this year comparing with previous years.
The forum was attended by primary schools children, government officials and other key actors in the state.
