Juba, 22nd August 2018. Jubek State led South Sudan in the results of Secondary School Certificate of Exams released on Monday.
The minister of general education Deng Deng Hoc declares Abel Alier Agut Madit of Juba Academy, the top student, scoring 93.4 percent followed by Abul Rebecca Akot Deng, of the same school and section with 92.9 percent.
Ramzi Suleiman Ima Ajur of Makpandu Secondary, Science section occupied the third position with 92.6 percent in Jubek State and the fourth is Chol Ajak Dau of the Juba Academy with 92.4 percent.
Number five is Simon Mangok of Juba International Secondary in Jubek State with 92.1 percent.
The minister declares that Abraham Ajok Akuei Lual of Juba Academy Secondary Science section is number six scoring 91.7 percent.
The seventh position is occupied by Abul Maria Akot Deng of the same School with 91.6 percent, he adds.
Three students tied in one position, number eight and closed ten best places in the results, according to the minister.
Deng Hoc says 13,734 students sat for the exams, 305 were absent and 9,824 candidates passed making a 71.5 percent and 3,912 failed making 28 percent.
He says this year’s performance dropped compared to last year.
The minister expresses joy over the tremendous improvement in the performance of students during exams over the past five years.
The minister was announcing the results of the South Sudan Secondary Certificate Exams in a press conference in Juba on Monday.
