Yambio, 24th May 2018. The South Sudan’s Health Minister has called on media in the country to disseminate enough information about Ebola to the population across the country.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday upon his arrival to Yambio town, Dr.Riek Gai Gok says if South Sudan’s communities get enough education about Ebola disease it wil reduced risks of spreading among communities.
He says he is leading a delegation to Yambio to monitor the situation of Ebola outbreak which has been reported in the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo.
Experts from World Health Organization or WHO are among the delegation who are visiting Western Equatoria region to campaign the community leaders in the area on how to prevent Ebola from reaching South Sudan.
He appeals to all Media houses in Yambio to help the ministry in disseminating the message to the in community in order to save lives.
Ebola is an infectious and frequently fetal disease marked by fever and severe internal bleeding spread through contact with infected body fluids.
Ebola virus was declared in Congo earlier this month in the north western Equator province of Congo where 46 suspected probable cases confirmed and 26 deaths have been reported.
