Tonj, 28th May 2018. The School girls in Tonj state on Friday called on parents to pay attention toward girls’ education by supporting them with school materials and other needs.
Martha Anguau senior three art student in Don Bosco secondary school says there are numerous challenges facing girls in South Sudan.
She points out at some traditional practices that are hindering girls’ education such as early marriage.
Rose Adol Marial another student says only few girls have access to quality education in country. She calls on government to provide them with good education.
Adol calls on parents to prioritize girls’ education in the community.
Andrea Aliel Mawien one of the teachers says girls’ education is important. He believes if girls are given enough educational opportunity they can change the community.
He encourages girls to keep on learning despite problems facing them in school.
