Tombura, 26th August 2017. The Advisor of Gender, Peace and Reconciliation in Tombura State is appealing to the Presidency to work hard to bring lasting peace to South Sudan.
Mary Yata urges President Salva Kiir and his deputies to listen to the voices of women in the country because they need real peace to prevail in the country.
She encourages women in Western Equatoria region and South Sudan to stand together and have one voice for peace.
The Advisor calls on the leaders to include women in the national dialogue committee so that the voices of rural women can be heard in decision making.
Women are suffering, face many abuses including lack of free movement in the country, she notes.
