Tombura, 9th September 2017. Some citizens from Wau State who were reportedly moving on foot have reached Tombura due to the current economic crisis, says State Paramount Chief.
Ambori Bamu Ueranzi reveals that a number of people have reached to Nangero and Tombura Counties due to lack of enough food in Wau, Radio Anisa reports.
So far, Relief and Rehabilitation Commission in Tombura State have registered 11,000 people from Wau, Nadiangere from Gbudue and other returnees from Central African Republic.
46 civilians from Wau alone have arrived in Tombura State.
Chief Bamu says they have also received some IDPs from Nadiangire in Gbudue State and are now based in Tombura in a separate camp.
He says the IDPs are relocating to other places because of poor conditions.
The Chief appeals to humanitarian agencies and the government to give necessary support to the IDPs in Tombura and Nagero Counties.
The Paramount Chief made the remarks on Tuesday in a telephone interview to Radio Anisa.
Radio Anisa could not speak to IDPs from Wau in Tombura by the press time.
