Juba, 2nd July 2018. The Ambassador of Congo to South Sudan says the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan should work together to maintain peace in the two countries.
Rene Illuime Tembele believes through cooperation and hard work, the two countries will achieve lasting peace.
He was talking during the celebration of the 58 year’s anniversary of the Republic of Congo on Saturday in Juba.
According to Ambassador Illuime, the celebration will start by prayer on Saturday and Sunday and children will conclude it by football matches at Juba Stadium.
He appreciates President Salva Kiir Mayardit and opposition leader Dr Riek Machar Teny for signing the deal in Khartoum, Sudan.
Democratic Republic of the Congo Independence Day is a national holiday which is celebrated to commemorate the country's liberation from Belgium in 1960.
