Civic Engagement Center trains civil society on Labour Act.

Yambio, 27th April 2018. Yambio Civic Engagement Center User Committee in partnership with Democracy International-Success on Tuesday trained civil society organizations on Labour Act 2017.
The purpose of the forum was to empower civil society organizations with skills on advocacy and good governance, Anisa Radio reports.
Acting chairperson of the committee, Justine Repai Kezito, says the organizations cannot speak about issues related to Labour Law if they are not familiar with the Act.
He adds that after the forum the organizations will be able to speak about labour related issues in the communities.
Deputy Director of Relief and Rehabilitation Commission James Benson Mohamed Kporube appreciates the committee for initiating the program to build the capacity of civil society organizations every monthly.
He encourages the organizations to empower youth and women who are the most vulnerable people in the society.
The official adds that the country is not stable and it needs a lot of capacity building to citizens.
Many civil society organizations are not familiar with the Labour Act 2017, says Wilson Dainie Edward, Director of Labour and Industrial Relation in the Directorate of Labour.
He reveals that his will start registration of graduates and issue cards which will help the job seeker to search for recruitment process.
During the conference, participants appreciate the user committee for organizing such forums to equip them with knowledge on Labour Act 2017.
The one-day meeting drew participants from different civil society organizations in Yambio on Tuesday.
