Catholic Bishop of Malakal dies in Khartoum at the age of 84.

Juba, 8th January 2018. The Emeritus Catholic Bishop of Malakal Diocese, Vincent Mojok Nyiker has died on Friday in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum at the age of 84.
The announcement was made officially to the CRN by the apostolic administrator of Malakal diocese, Monsignor, Roko Taban Musa on Friday in Juba.
Monsignor Taban added that some arrangements are on the way for the body of the late Bishop Mojok to be flown to South Sudan in the coming days.
Taban described the death of Bishop Mojok as a great lost. He sends his sincere condolences to the family of the late Bishop Moko and the entire Catholics across the country……….cont
Here is some short biography of the late Bishop Vincent Mojok:
Late Bishop was born in 1933 in Atieng village of Tonga payam, Panyikang County in Upper Nile State.
He started his primary school in Tonga elementary in 1947- 1949 and joined Atar Teacher’s Training College in 1950 and graduated the following year.
He was sent to Tore River Major Seminary 1956-1963 in Yei
He was consecrated priest on the 21st of July 1963 by Archbishop Ireneo Wien Dut.
And later appointed as the apostolic Administrator for the Diocese of Malakal in 1977
The late was consecrated as Bishop on May 27th 1979 in Rome by Pope John Paul II.
Bishop Vincent encouraged the vocation to priesthood and to religious life in which he ordained 27 priests and Deacons and sent many young men who expressed the desire to become priests to the seminary.
He established Saint Lwanga Catholic Schools both basic (primary) and secondary with 6 Kindergartens in Malakal and the Parishes outside.
