Yambio, 3rd August 2018. Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop this morning arrives in the Diocese after his trip to Uganda and Ethiopia for different occasions.
While addressing staff in Curia the Bishop says he went to attend two key important meetings in which they are connected as Catholic Church.
Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala mentions that his first trip was to visit south Sudanese refugees in Uganda and then he proceeded to Ethiopia for their regional plenary of Association Membership Episcopal Conferences of Eastern Africa or AMECEA.
He adds that their visit to the camps was part of the resolutions of the South Sudan and Sudan Bishops conference last year.
Bishop Hiiboro appreciates the Bishop’s conference of Uganda and the citizens for receiving them and supporting the refugees since they have not been able to send priests from South Sudan to help them.
He reveals that they went together with some of the funding agencies from South Sudan who saw the needs and promise to continue supporting them.
The Bishop cited that in the AMECEA meeting they looked at the growth of faith, the difficulties and problems facing the region of Eastern Africa.
During the meeting they also discussed what can be done because they realized that many people go to the church but still behave contrary.
The Bishop was addressing staff in Curia upon his arrival today.
