Juba, 8th September 2017. Secretaries of the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences of Eastern Africa or AMECEA will meet in Juba from Monday to Thursday, reveals Secretary-General of Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference or SCBC.
Fr Jacob Odwa Paul says the first meeting of AMECEA Secretaries is a preparation of a plenary scheduled for 2018 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
This gathering would have taken place in August, but due to other circumstances it reached to September, SCBC Secretary-General explains.
Fr Odwa says South Sudan and the Sudan will learn from the AMECEA officials and the officials will also learn from the conditions of the two countries in Juba.
It is a privilege and a joy of South Sudanese that AMECEA the secretaries will visit the country to acquaint themselves with the situation, he stresses.
The secretaries are expected to start arriving at the end of this week, the SCBC Secretary-General discloses.
