Nairobi, 22nd October 2018. The Association of Member Ecumenical Conferences of eastern Africa or AMECEA last Thursday installed the seventh Chancellor and the eighth Vice Chancellor of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
According to AMECEA Online News, the colourful ceremony took place at the University’s main campus in Nairobi, Kenya during the thanksgiving mass for the 37th graduation ceremony.
Both the new Chancellor and the Vice were elected and appointed respectively at the AMECEA 19th Plenary Assembly in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in July 2018.
The new Chancellor, also the Chairman of AMECEA is the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Solwezi, Zambia.
The Vice Chancellor Prof Stephen Mbugua is a priest from the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru, Kenya.
Prof Mbugua was the Vice Chancellor Designate at Tangaza University College.
