Juba, 30th January 2018. Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa or AMECEA Secretariat last week held evaluation and planning retreat for the nineteenth plenary assembly scheduled from July 13 to 23, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
AMECEA Secretary-General Fr Ferdinand Lugonzo says all pending resolutions of the 18th meeting are implemented ahead of the next assembly, AMECEA Online News reported.
The Secretariat covered quite a lot in regards to the resolutions and the pastoral strategic plan which runs from 2014 to 2024, he notes.
Fr Lugonzo says each department was asked to complete its fundraising plans and put some strategies on the sustainability of their activities.
He cites lack of funding of some activities as the greatest challenge.
The Secretary-General encourages the departments to open up to new networks and not just relying on what he terms traditional partners.
He discloses that AMECEA is currently working on modalities to ensure that there is smooth running of programs despite any occurrence of a transition.
