Nairobi, 3rd September 2018. Patron of the Association of the Member Ecumenical Conferences of Eastern Africa or AMECEA and its Chairman Bishop Charles Kasonde led members in bidding farewell to outgoing staff in Nairobi, Kenya on August 29.
John Cardinal Njue, who is the Archbishop of Nairobi while addressing the farewell ceremony, says the reality is that they are coming from far, still far and are going far, EMECEA Online News reported.
He tells those remaining at the Institutions and the incoming members that the seed has been planted and it was now their duty to make sure that it is watered.
The Cardinal urges the new office bearers to be focused and to be ahead of their people always.
Bishop Kasonde asks the Lord to help the new team to settle down quickly and begin to contribute to the institutions as required by their offices.
Speaking on behalf of AMECEA Secretariat Staff, Fr. Emmanuel Chimombo, Coordinator of AMECEA Pastoral Department, thanks the outgoing staff members for their contribution.
One of the office bearers, Fr Anthony Makunde, describes the new team as great with hardworking members who are going to render services to the AMECEA region.
